Hell yes.
Daylan and Cade are such a sweet couple who have such incredible energy and joy. I first met them when I photographed their engagement session, which took place in downtown OKC. They were each other’s first dates on Tinder and knew they were perfect for each other right away.
For their fall wedding, their biggest focus was creating lasting memories with their family and friends. Daylan wanted lots of candid photos that captured all of the little details. They chose The Festivities Event Center for the fall wedding since it has so much vintage charm, art deco vibes, with a modern feel.
The Festivities Event Center is such a fantastic venue for so many reasons. First, the site has multiple spaces, so you can easily get ready on-site and have both your ceremony and reception at the same place. This makes it much easier for guests since they don’t have to travel from one place to another! It’s also just a stunning, versatile venue that allows couples to customize the space to feel modern, vintage, boho – whatever the vibe is!
The Festivities Event Center Wedding
Since Festivities Event Center is a blank canvas, Daylan wanted to add some contrasting colors to turn the space into a moody and warm room. Incorporating different textures and an art deco feel was also important to her, so she worked with Nicole Shadid at Southern Charm Events to pick all the details. The primary color was emerald green, which was tied throughout. It started with their wedding invitations, which featured a velvet ribbon and navy accents. The bridesmaids wore emerald green dresses that paired perfectly with Cade’s modern suit. I love that Cade chose such a bold color for his suit! It complimented all of the details so well. The groomsmen wore navy suits to tie in the navy accents.
Their sweet ceremony took place in the courtyard of Festivities Event Center, tucked away behind the venue. The lush ivory and greenery walls made the space feel intimate and very romantic. A personalized ceremony was very important to them, so they had a handfasting ritual.
Sunset Portraits in Downtown El Reno
While guests enjoyed the reception hour, we snuck away for some sunset portraits in the little downtown area. Located in El Reno, just outside of Oklahoma City, the downtown area was the perfect spot for some evening pictures. Like their engagement session, which had an urban feel, we made sure to find some colored buildings for textured backgrounds.
One of my favorite moments of the whole day was their first dance! This couple loves the movie “La La Land” and choreographed the first dance to a song from the movie. It was impressive to see how much they practiced to perfect their dance! As the sun set, the reception was under a candle-lit glow. The couple enjoyed the night surrounded by their family and friends. As Daylan told me, the day goes by so fast, so it’s so important to slow down, breathe, and enjoy it. 2022 dates are booking up quick, so reach out today so we can talk about your wedding! I would love to hear your story and be there to capture your beautiful day.

Everything about this is perfection! I am in NEED of pictures of my pups like they had done of their fur kids! I love that you kept the greens green, and the way you told the story of their day from beginning to end. Beautifully done!
