Sam and Ryan first met through an awkward high school encounter. Both had torn ACLs and dads who thought talking to someone going through a similar experience would be helpful. Start in the summer of 2012, before their senior year of high school, at a physical therapy office. Add in two competitive humans, the London Olympics, and a series of summer challenges, and you get a lifelong relationship. Now, they love spending time on the patio of their favorite bar and are always down for a good game night. So, when it came to their engagement photos, they decided to do an Oklahoma City brewery engagement session.
Oklahoma City Brewery Engagement Session
As this couple loves to walk around their midtown neighborhood and check out new bars and shops together, a brewery engagement session makes sense for them. We started at their favorite bar, McNellies, and began touring other OKC breweries, which they enjoyed! After, we bounced around the city to some of their favorite spots. We ended the evening on the rooftop of Elk Valley Brewing.
When we first started shooting, they were self-proclaimed “awkward people,” but there’s nothing a good photographer (and maybe a beer) can’t fix. They did amazing, and if you can’t tell from the huge smiles in all the photos, I think they had a fun time. They’re a very down to earth couple, and they’re so much fun to be around.
Overall, this brewery engagement session was a great time, and their wedding is going to be too! Another fun fact: Ryan is the youngest sibling of four – he has three older sisters. I’ve actually photographed all three of their weddings! So, at this point, I’m pretty much part of the family, and I’m looking forward to celebrating with them all again this Spring!
It’s so important to me that my couples have a good time, and I’d love to help you enjoy your engagement session too. Reach out to me, so we can start planning!
