Surrounded by their closest loved ones, Hattie and Adam exchanged vows on one of the first crisp, fall mornings of October.

In Japanese legend, it's believed that folding 1,000 paper cranes will grant good fortune in the form of a wish from the Gods, eternal luck or happiness, or lifelong health.

As a nod to their cultures, Hattie and Adam decided to do just that – folding paper cranes, not only to create a beautiful backdrop to their ceremony, but as a symbol of the merging of their families into one and the beginning of their lives together.

It's intentional things like these that remind me of the freedom of intimate weddings, of the small and beautiful ways that couples make their day their own and honor their relationship.

It's not the size of the wedding that matters, it’s what you decide is worth celebrating.

Towards the end of our photos, I asked H&A to take a moment to each find a crane and hold it in their hands. I asked them to take a moment to feel the folds and texture with their hands and to take a deep breath.

I invited them to make a wish, a wish they’d received perhaps from The Gods who watched them fold those paper cranes. To Hattie and Adam, may your wishes always be fulfilled through each other, your lives be filled with fortune, happiness, health… and many more paper cranes.

I cannot believe it's been ONE YEAR since Melissa + Jeff's wedding day. They celebrated in OKC with many of their friends and family flying in to join them and experience OKC with along with them. It was an evening filled with honest-to-gosh love, connection, a family-style dinner, a raucous dance floor, and a joyous sendoff down the steps of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Happy one-year anniversary, M + J! What an honor it is to photograph these days to look back on. ❤️

How do you want to spend your day?
A lot of people think they’ll be giving up something by having a small wedding. I think it’s the opposite. You gain time.
Quality time with your partner and those you choose to invite—you’re not rushed. You gaining the ability for intentional activities and experiences to share together. You gain the ability to dictate how your time, money, and most importantly, energy is spent. So, how do you want to spend your wedding day?

Only a few of the many gorgeous details from Baile

Only a few of the many gorgeous details from Bailey + Blake's wedding day. These two spent time ahead of their wedding day on thrifting dates, hand-selecting some of the details of their day from vases to jewelry dishes. This even led to to discovery of a vintage clawfoot bathtub which they turned into a weekend project planter for their home. ⁣Some of my favorite wedding stories come out of the intentionality of wedding planning time. When couples choose to spend time together planning and thinking through what their day will look like, it makes the final product all the more special when it all comes together.
